About Alaska

Corporate Social Responsibility

Armed with shovels, paintbrushes, hammers and other building tools, Alaska Milk Corporation employees and the Alaska Aces joined forces one rainy Saturday for a cause-oriented task. The mission: to build houses for the homeless beneficiaries of the Gawad Kalinga - Alaska Village in San Pedro, Laguna. The group was led by no less than AMC President and COO, Wilfred Steven Uytengsu and his family.

The company partnered with Gawad Kalinga and the Municipality of San Pedro, Laguna in order to construct 100 homes in the six-hectare relocation site in Bayan-bayanan, Barangay San Vicente. The village will be the new home for some of the municipality's squatters.

The company chose San Pedro, Laguna because it has been the home of AMC's manufacturing plant since 1972. Mr. Uytengsu says, it's Alaska's turn to give to the residents who welcomed them into their municipality.

The group worked side by side with Gawad Kalinga volunteers to jumpstart the whole project. AMC has also committed to assist in providing livelihood, educational and medical projects for the qualified beneficiaries of the 100 homes.

In line with AMC's drive to promote good nutrition for kids, it has formed ties with Children's Hour as well. Company employees and even Alaska Aces players and coaching staff are invited to donate a percentage of their salaries to the fund.

These projects are ALASKA MILK COPRORATION'S contributions to the task of nation building.

Alaska Milk Corporation also supports Children's Hour, a grant-giving organization that funds programs committed to protect the welfare of disadvantaged Filipino children.
