  3. What is the difference between full cream milk and filled milk?

Full cream milk is milk made from animal fat which makes it creamier and tastier than other kinds of milk, while filled milk is made from vegetable oil such as corn, palm olein or soya. Alaska uses the finest vegetable oil from coconuts to make it as creamy and tasty as full cream milk.

  4. What is the difference between evaporated filled milk and sweetened condensed filled milk?

Alaska’s evaporated filled milk and sweetened condensed filled milk are both made of the finest vegetable oil from coconuts, but undergo different preservation methods. To make evaporated filled milk, water is partially removed from the milk then it is sealed in cans and sterilized to prevent spoilage.

Sweetened condensed milk is made by partially removing water from milk and adding sugar to it. It is not sterilized as the sugar acts as a preserving agent. This results to thicker and sweeter milk than evaporated filled milk.

Alaska’s Evaporated Filled Milk and Sweetened Condensed Filled Milk can be used in different dishes such as salads, soups, main entrée, and desserts. A good mixture of Alaska’s Evaporated and Sweetened Condensed Filled Milk creates creamy and tasty dishes that your whole family can enjoy. See our recipes for other serving suggestions.

  5. What is the difference between evaporated/sweetened condensed filled milk and creamers?

Alaska’s evaporated/condensed filled milk and creamers are both made of the finest vegetable oil from coconuts but have different usage. Alaska Evaporated/Condensed Filled Milk can be used in cooking of various dishes from soups to desserts while Alaska’s Creamers (Alaska Evaporada/Condensada) can be used to add more taste and texture to coffee, champorada, halo-halo, and other desserts that require creamers.

  6. What is UHT (Ultra High Temperature)?

UHT or Ultra High Temperature is a treatment where the product is sealed in aseptic packs and is subjected to at least 140 centigrade of heat for 4 to 6 seconds. Alaska uses this treatment in making ready-to-drink milk and to create longer shelf life for the product so you can now enjoy Alaska’s ready-to-drink milk anytime, anywhere.

  7. What is the difference between the Ready-to-Drink Fresh Milk and Ready-to-Drink Low-Fat Milk?

Alaska’s Ready-to-Drink Fresh Milk (Alaska Fresh) and Ready-to-Drink Low-Fat Milk (Alaska Slim) undergo the same UHT treatment, but has different milk fat content. Alaska Fresh has 3.5% milk fat content resulting to high nutrition value such as calcium, energy, fats, proteins, vitamins, etc. making it suitable for active and growing kids. Alaska Slim has a lower milk fat content than Alaska Fresh. It has only 2% milk fat content, but contains ample nutrition value that is suitable for teenagers and adults who want to stay fit and slim.
