The Alaska Basketball Power Camp runs every summer vacation, attracting boys and girls to the country’s most popular sport.
Camp Director and one of PBA’s 25 Greatest Players of All Time, Jojo “Jolas” Lastimosa, heads Alaska’s basketball camp. The camp is composed of two modules.
Module 1: Developmental (ages 5-12 yrs)
Module 2: Advanced (ages 12 -16) and Competitive (ages 17-22)
At the end of the program, participants join the “All-Star Game” to showcase what they learned from the Camp, including 3-on-3 half court game, 3-point shootout competition, skill game and a Slam Dunk competition. During the graduation ceremonies, outstanding participants are given recognition.
Jr. NBA is a support organization for recreational youth basketball leagues that connects players, parents, coaches and officials to heighten awareness and participation in youth basketball.It was introduced in the Philippines in 2007 and in 2011; the NBA-Alaska partnership began.
Jr. NBA presented by Alaska conducts sports clinics, training camps, coaches’ clinics, equips children with the skills and passion for basketball, and provides children an opportunity to train under Jr. NBA coaches and one of the PBA 25 Greatest Players, JojoLastimosa, to compete with varsities abroad.
Now entering its second expanded and multi-layered partnership agreement, Jr. NBA and Alaska will bring the Jr. WNBA program in the country for the first time.
