LIBRENG MASK PARA SA MASA: A partnership between AMC and DTI

Aligned with its #AlagangAlaska Project, Alaska Milk Corporation (AMC) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) turned over a total of 10,000 high quality, Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and Department of Health (DOH) approved, reusable cloth masks to various communities in line with the government’s call to continuously observe Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) preventive measures while slowly opening up businesses to stimulate the economy. These masks were sewn by women displaced by the pandemic, through the assistance of the Philippine Commission for Women (PCW).

The first batch of recipients were the residents of Barangay Namayan and Addition Hills in the City of Mandaluyong last October 24, 2020, which were identified to be among those with the highest number of COVID-19 confirmed patients in Metro Manila. Then, on November 3, 2020, another batch were distributed to the fire victims in Barangays Alima and Sineguelasan in Bacoor City, Cavite. The City Government of Pasig was also among the recipients of the free face masks on November 9, 2020.
