Alaska Milk Corporation (AMC), one of the leading dairy companies in the Philippines, is delighted to announce the renewal of its Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the City of San Pedro Laguna on August 04, 2023, for its AlasKalikasan partnership to address plastic pollution and malnutrition.

AlasKalikasan, has been instrumental in raising awareness about the importance of recycling and proper waste disposal in San Pedro, Laguna. This two-pronged approach not only address the issue of plastic pollution but also malnutrition.

The renewal of the MOA signifies the continued collaboration between Alaska Milk and the City of San Pedro Laguna to build a greener and more sustainable community. Through this partnership, both parties aim to further educate and engage the residents of San Pedro Laguna in environmental conservation and proper nutrition.

“The problem of plastic pollution and malnutrition is so big that the government cannot solve it alone. We believe that the private sector has an important role to play in addressing these issues.  We are proud to renew our partnership with the local government of San Pedro Laguna for Alaskalikasan and Wrapper Redemption program. This initiative aligns perfectly with our commitment to environmental sustainability and helping government address the problem of malnutrition,” said Alaska Milk Managing Director Tarang Gupta.

Alaska Milk’s Wrapper Redemption program has already collected, recycled, and upcycled more than 1,600 metric tons of single-use plastics since its inception in 2019 and the San Pedro LGU has been one of our prolific partners.

“The MOA renewal represents the unwavering commitment of both Alaska Milk and the San Pedro LGU to prioritize environmental conservation and instill a sense of responsibility and active participation among the community. I am certain that innovative partnerships such as this will encourage everyone to be part of the solution to the various problems the city is facing,” said San Pedro City Mayor Art Mercado.
