Alaska Milk brings AlasKabuhayan in Iloilo Province with Vice President Leni Robredo

Alaska Milk Corporation (AMC), in partnership with the Office of the Vice President (OVP) and Masflex, conducted AlasKabuhayan, a fun and interactive live cooking demonstration in two (2) coastal municipalities in the Province of Iloilo on 16 and 17 March 2021. AlasKabuhayan is a series of live cooking sessions in various Local Government Units nationwide through which AMC aims to equip those displaced by the pandemic and natural calamities with basic cooking skills which they can use in start-up backyard business.

 

 

 

The AlasKabuhayan event in Carles, the northernmost municipality in Iloilo, was graced by  Vice President Maria Leonor “Leni” G. Robredo. She was accompanied by Carles Mayor Siegfredo “Onting” Betita, AMC Corporate Affairs Director Atty. Maria Angela Esquivel, and other officials of the Municipality.

 

 

Chef Christopher “Kai” Padilla featured the following recipes: Chicken ala King Empanada, Creamy Chicken Curry, Creamy Beef Caldereta, and Ube Macapuno Scramble. VP Robredo herself cooked some Creamy Beef Caldereta, to the surprise and delight of the participants. The following day, the AlasKabuhayan session was also conducted in the Municipality of Concepcion, Iloilo.

 

A total of ninety seven (97) parents, micro entrepreneurs, and daycare workers residing from the island barangays of both municipalities attended the AlasKabuhayan sessions to learn new, simple, and nutritious recipes that they can use in their food business and in their homes.

 

 

All participants received Alaska Starter Kits, which contain Alaska products that were used in the cooking demonstration. Masflex also gave the participants cookware and kitchenware to supplement their cooking equipment at home.

 

 

The AlasKabuhayan events in Iloilo remain part of our contribution to the International Women’s Month celebrations.
