Alaska Milk Corporation Undergoes Organizational Transformation

Alaska Milk Corporation (AMC) makes a difficult but necessary decision today to undergo an organizational transformation at our San Pedro, Laguna manufacturing plant.

This change, though painful, will ensure jobs for the majority of our employees for a longer period. While the local AMC business remains stable, worsening economic conditions have accelerated this change to ensure that we stay competitive in the market.

We thank all of our employees for their service. Their service and dedication, especially amidst the ongoing pandemic, has ensured our ability to provide affordable nutrition for Filipinos. The affected employees will continue to receive their salaries until the effective date of separation and medical benefits until the end of the year. We will also provide support in the form of outplacement assistance and other employability initiatives to help ease this transition.

A third-party consultant conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the plant’s operations, and these changes are in line with FrieslandCampina’s global directive to optimize all of their business operations worldwide to ensure long-term business sustainability.

Meanwhile, we assure our customers and partners that current operations will continue without disruptions. We thank everyone for their understanding and support through these changes.

AMC has been providing affordable nutrition for generations of Filipino families for almost 50 years. These changes will help us remain steadfast in that commitment for many more years to come.
