Alaska Milk Kicks Off Global Sustainability Week Celebration

CITY OF SAN PEDRO, LAGUNA – Stepping up for a better planet, Alaska Milk Corporation (AMC) held its Global Sustainability Week Celebration on 4-5 October 2022 at its Manufacturing Plant in Laguna. This was launched by the Corporate Sustainability Department of Royal FrieslandCampina (RFC) and is celebrated globally with other RFC Operating Companies (OpCos).

In the past decade, RFC has focused on building a stronger and more sustainable foundation. Not just for the company but for the entire industry and generations to come. But the planet is still under pressure, and there are massive challenges on the horizon. Thus, RFC, together with its OpCos, further accelerates its collective goal to provide good nutrition in balance with nature through this Global Sustainability Week Celebration.

AMC kicked off the week with an educational and informative forum with speakers from the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) of San Pedro, Laguna, headed by Marilou Balba. Sustainability projects and initiatives of AMC like AlasKalikasan, installation of solar panels, CO2 emission reduction, and conversion to LPG usage were also discussed by its project leads.

AMC’s external partners and stakeholders set up fun-filled games and booths on the second day of the celebration. Aboitiz Energy Solutions, Greenergie Corporation, MTI Water Technologies, Nalco Philippines, All Waste Services, Netsolar, Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation, Isla LPG Corporation, and GEA Pilipinas all joined the festivity to educate more on their sustainability programs.

“We can only make a sustainable difference if we step up together,” said Hein Schumacher, the CEO of Royal FrieslandCampina.

RFC, hand-in-hand with AMC, wants to inspire and engage all its employees worldwide to contribute to its sustainability goals because every job is a sustainability job.

“We do not have a Plan B because there is no Planet B,” Schumacher added.
