AlasKabuhayan Livelihood and Nutrition Program in an Indigenous People’s Community

Alaska Milk Corporation (AMC) rolls out another AlasKabuhayan Livelihood and Nutrition Program for this year in collaboration with Calawis National High School in Antipolo, Rizal held on 29 March 2022.  The ceremony began at MOA signing between AMC and DepEd for the implementation milk feeding program with 101 student-beneficiaries.  AMC also donated 14 desktop computers for Calawis National High School Students including some students belonging to the Dumagat Tribe.

 

 

Parents of the students in Calawis National High School, some of which are part of the Dumagat Tribe, attended the event.  A total of 60 participants joined in an exciting and interactive live cooking demonstration led by Chef Christopher Padilla. The audience’s favorite recipes such as the Chicken Ala King Empanada, Milky Ramen, and Ube Macapuno Scramble were highlighted by using popular Alaska Milk products namely: Alaska Evaporada and Ube Condensada. Other meals include Fish Sipo and Classic Pinakbet.

 

 

The event was graced by Alaska Milk’s People and Culture Director, Lyn Hadjula-Legarde, Corporate Affairs Director, Atty. Angela Esquivel, Regulatory Affairs Manager Ann Villanueva, and the Senior Trade and Industry Development Specialist of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) for Rizal, Ms. Marlene Deluna, in which she had shared led the AlasKabuhayan business talk by discussing negosyo tips and customer handling which the audience can apply in their business ventures.

 

Nagpapasalamat kami ngayon dahil nandito ang Alaska para magabayan at ma-inspire tayo na magkaron ng sariling hanapbuhay para makatulong sa ating Pamilya” Mr. Rodrigo Ditarro, OIC Principal said during the opening remarks.

 

 

All participants received Alaska Starter Kits, which contain Alaska products that were used in the cooking demonstration. Masflex, AMC’s partner in it’s Alaskabuhayan executions, also gave the participants cookware and kitchenware to supplement their cooking equipment at home.
