ALASKA MILK BALIK TANAW PROGRAM

In commemoration of its 50th Anniversary of being one of the leading Milk brands in the Philippines, Alaska Milk Corporation (AMC) held a “Balik Tanaw” ( “Looking back”) today, together with Gawad Kalinga Community at GK Alaska Village in San Pedro Laguna. 148 participants attended this unforgettable event with AMC.

AMC in partnership with Gawad Kalinga (GK), City Government of San Pedro, and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), donated 100 units of 22 square meter houses at a 1.3-hectare housing area in Bayan-Bayanan, Barangay San Vicente, San Pedro City, Laguna to qualified beneficiaries that were thoroughly screened by DSWD on November 14, 2008. During the construction, the recipients together with AMC employees, the Uytengsu family, Alaska ACES (basketball team), and the members of Couples for Christ took time out from their daily schedules to help build the houses. The 1.3-hectare land was donated by the local government through Mayor Calixto Cataquiz and former San Pedro mayor Felicisimo Verneza.
