Alaska Milk Partners with Private Companies for AlasKalusugan Expansion

Alaska Milk Corporation (AMC) partners with Aboitiz Power Corporation and Aboitiz Foundation Inc., Isla LPG Corporation, Trans-Asia Phils Manufacturing Industries Corporation and Alfonso Yuchengco (AY) Foundation Inc. in order to adopt more malnourished children enrolled in public schools for this school year, 2021-2022, for its milk feeding program. The Aboitiz group adopted 107 while Isla LPG adopted 215 , Trans-Asia 107 and AY Foundation 250 malnourished children.

AMC’s Alaskalusugan (Alaska + Health) is a partnership with the Department of Education through its Adopt-A-School Program. Since 2016, AMC has already adopted more than 900 public schools and almost 100,000 malnourished kids nationwide. Based on the latest UNICEF Philippines data, 95 Filipino children die every day due to malnutrition and 27 out of 1,000 Filipino children do not even get past their 5th Birthday due to hunger. This propels AMC to invite other partner organizations to join in its efforts to provide nutrition to malnourished children in public schools by providing them a glass of milk for 120 feeding days.

This is a true testament of the power of partnership of the government and the private sector in nation-building.
